PROPERTY MANAGER

The YMCA of Darke County is seeking qualified applicants for a Property Manager to maintain both our Greenville and Versailles facilities, equipment and grounds.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

-Provides overall coordination of facility maintenance, including planning and developing
preventative maintenance for facilities, equipment, and grounds.

  • -Coordinates and works with outside contractors for grass mowing, snow removal, and tree maintenance.
  • – Develops, implements, and documents a preventative maintenance program for all major systems and equipment in the facility as needed including: climate control and HVAC systems, electrical, water/sewer systems, pumps, and boiler systems.
  • -Performs improvements, repairs, and maintenance to buildings and equipment. Operates all tools safely.
  • -Completes repair work and projects in a timely manner.
  • – Works with outside agencies such as fire, health, building depts., etc. to ensure compliance with all local, state and federal regulations.
  • – Responsible for pool maintenance, chemistry of the water and the safe operation of the swimming pool.
  • -Ensures that assigned vehicles (and other equipment) are maintained and operated in accordance with the policies and procedures of the YMCA.
  • -Responsible for overall building security including building keys, alarm system, and overall security of YMCA facilities and equipment.
  • -Responsible for the annual maintenance shutdown, including timeline development, coordination with applicable department staff, and timely communication to members.
  • -Knowledge of state and federal safety guidelines including those related to OSHA and HIPPA; ensure YMCA adherence to such guidelines. Ensures material safety data sheets are maintained.
  • Prospective applicants must be able to lift 50 pounds, bend, stand, stoop and walk. Mechanical aptitude is required, as well as general maintenance ability.

This position could be a part time or full time position. Hours vary, some evenings and weekends are required. Pay is $17-$19+  per hour, commensurate with experience. LIFEGUARD

Versailles Branch and Greenville Branch

Nationally recognized Lifeguard Certification required.

Lifeguards are responsible for the supervision & safety of members and program participants while they are in the pool, whether they are swimming, exercising or engaged in any other activity in or around the water. Qualified candidates must be at least 16 years old with a nationally recognized Lifeguard Certification, and must demonstrate a commitment to the Y core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.

-We need a lifeguard who is available for daytime shifts,  between 16-20 hours per week.

AQUATICS COORDINATOR

The YMCA of Darke County is looking for a qualified individual to oversee its aquatics department at both Darke County YMCA locations.

The Aquatics Coordinator ensures the successful operation of the Aquatics Department, and serves as the aquatic expert during swim lessons, provides leadership and development of Aquatics Department staff, and ensures a high-quality aquatic experience. 

Applicant must have current certification OR obtain within 30 days of hire. The Y will help train the right person.

Some supervisory experience required. 

This position could be a part time or full time position. Hours vary, some evenings and weekends are required. We offer competitive wages of $14-$18/ hourly, commensurate with experience. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Facilitates communication and provides leadership which includes ensuring 100% staff coverage for all scheduled shifts and programs.
  • Models relationship-building skills in all interactions.
  • Coordinates training in CPR, First Aid, Lifeguard, BLS, Babysitting.
  • Checks pool chemistry.
  • Facilitates youth swim lessons.
  • Records, reports and ensures the accuracy of all aquatic records.
  • Assists with program activities as needed.
  • Maintains all instructional equipment, including proper usage and storage of class materials.
  • Assures compliance with state and local regulations. Ensures that program and membership standards are met and safety procedures are followed.
  • Organizes special events for participants and families.
  • Facilitates youth swim lessons.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have current lifeguard certification, which includes CPR, FA, and AED, or willingness to obtain within 30 days.
  • Must have knowledge of basic swimming strokes and the ability to demonstrate each skill effectively.
  • Must obtain Red Cross Instructor certification and facilitate Red Cross certification courses, including CPR, First Aid, Lifeguard, BLS, Babysitting.
  • Must have some prior supervisory experience.
  • Must have proficient computer skills.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
  • Physical ability to respond quickly in emergency: regular kneeling, bending, or sitting.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks.
  • Ability to establish and maintain harmonious relationships with staff, volunteers, members, and program participants.

BUILDING SUPERVISOR

The building supervisor delivers excellent service to all members, guests, and program participants. The building supervisor responds to member and guest needs, promotes memberships and programs, and maintains cleanliness and organization of the facility. The building supervisor also supervises the facility primarily during evening and weekend shifts and enforces guidelines among members, guests, and program participants.

The person in this position should display the YMCA values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility. Supervisory experience preferred but not required. Previous customer service, sales or related experience preferred. Excellent interpersonal and problem solving skills required, plus the ability to effectively address issues and enforce guidelines. Candidate should also have the ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community. Basic knowledge of computers is also helpful.

The building supervisor monitors the entire facility including the Wellness Center, weight room, gyms, tracks, hallways, locker rooms and Member Services desk areas. Enforces building rules and member code of conduct. Addresses incidents or violations immediately, in an assertive, yet professional and courteous manner.

Prior to closing time, assures that the closing procedures are completed. Secures the building by checking all outside doors to make sure they are locked. Walks through the facility to assure that everyone is out, towels, balls and garbage, etc. is picked up, final laundry loads are complete, all lights are turned off and doors locked.

Provides excellent service to members, guests, and program participants in the Y and on the phone, contributing to member retention. Greets each member, making them feel welcome. Learns and uses member names and thanks them. Helps Member Services staff with assisting members, guests and participants as needed.

Has working knowledge of all emergency procedures, understands the building supervisor’s role during an emergency, and responds to emergency situations immediately in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures. Keeps radio on and with them at all times. Completes related incident reports as required.

FRONT DESK MEMBER SERVICES ASSOCIATE 

Versailles Branch

The Versailles position is closing shift,  5PM-8:45PM

Job Summary:

The Front Desk Member Services Associate staff will be responsible for providing a high level of customer service to Y members, program participants and guests.

MSAs should display the Y values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility. They will greet and assist all members, guests and program participants. They will interact with the members and uphold the member experience standards. They will be the daily point of contact for members, determining their needs and offering solutions to meet these needs.

Scope and Responsibilities:

  • Greet and welcome members.
  • Actively interact and engage with members and prospects to determine needs; directing to the appropriate lead (i.e. Membership Director, Program Director, etc) when necessary.
  • Handle member requests and questions; problem solving.
  • Gather and record member data in member profiles.
  • Facilitate member-to-member engagement.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of front desk area and lobby.
  • Provides information and assistance related to membership rates, programs, services, scholarships and other Y amenities.
  • Prepares member records and issues membership ID cards and handles registration/enrollment transactions.
  • Assist with membership business and administrative tasks.
  • Support the YMCA’s mission and center operations as needed.
  • Report any items that may provide a health or safety hazard to staff, members or guests to the maintenance staff.
  • Greet all guests as they enter the facility and adhere to sign-in/out, guest, visitor, monitoring youth in the facility and other relevant policies and procedures. Report any suspicious behavior and violations of policy and procedures to your supervisor.
  • Must be able to work some evenings and weekends.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma preferred
  • Basic knowledge of computers
  • Must be able to work in highly flexible, rapidly changing work environment
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communications skills.

CLEANING CREW

Versailles Branch and Greenville Branch

Part-Time positions available at both Darke County locations.

Responsibilities include thoroughly cleaning facility, locker rooms, restrooms, floors, workout equipment, etc.

Versailles- Monday-Friday, shift time can be flexible but approximately 11:00 AM-3:00 PM.

Greenville- Monday-Friday, shift time can be flexible but approximately 6:30 PM -10:30 PM.

Prior experience not necessary, but preferred.

SWIM LESSON INSTRUCTORS

The YMCA of Darke County is hiring swim lesson instructors. Candidate should bring a positive attitude and desire excellence. Must enjoy interacting with children and have ability to lift a small child.

Swim lesson instructors will provide direct leadership, instruction and motivation for students in swimming classes, and should also have the ability to communicate information on Y programs effectively and positively with members, parents and students.

Experience is helpful but not required; the YMCA will provide training.

Salary commensurate with experience.

GROUP EXERCISE INSTRUCTORS/WELLNESS COACHES

We are looking for individuals who are willing and able to lead groups in a safe, effective and fun exercise class! We are hiring for both our Greenville and Versailles locations.

Candidates should have a love for fitness and health, prior experience as a participant in a variety of group exercise classes, and some experience teaching is preferred, but is not required.

Wellness Coaches provide guidance and help members learn to use the Y’s equipment and learn about various programs and classes at the Y that may help them achieve their health and wellness goals. We can train you for this position!
