FRONT DESK MEMBER SERVICES ASSOCIATE

*Greenville, part time, evenings and weekends

Job Summary

The Front Desk Customer Service staff will greet and assist all members, guests and program participants. They will interact with the members and uphold the member experience standards. They will be the daily point of contact for members, determining their needs and offering solutions to meet these needs. They will be responsible for providing a high level of customer service to Y members, program participants and guests.

Scope and Responsibilities:

  • Greet and welcome members.
  • Actively interact and engage with members and prospects to determine needs; directing to the appropriate lead (i.e. Membership Director, Program Director, etc) when necessary.
  • Handle member requests and questions; problem solving.
  • Gather and record member data in member profiles.
  • Facilitate member to member engagement.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of front desk area and lobby.
  • Provides information and assistance related to membership rates, programs, services, scholarships and other Y amenities.
  • Prepares member records and issues membership ID cards and handles registration/enrollment transactions.
  • Assist with membership business and administrative tasks.
  • Support the YMCA’s mission and center operations as needed.
  • Report any items that may provide a health or safety hazard to staff, members or guests to the maintenance staff.
  • Greet all guests as they enter the facility and adhere to sign-in/out, guest, visitor, monitoring youth in the facility and other relevant policies and procedures. Report any suspicious behavior and violations of policy and procedures to your supervisor.
  • Must be able to evenings and weekends.

Requirements:

  • Must have high school diploma or GED and basic knowledge of computers
  • Must be able to work in highly flexible, rapidly changing work environment
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communications skills.

CHILD WATCH

Our Greenville Branch is looking to fill a part-time position for our Child Watch staff. Child Watch is a babysitting service for members to use while they are in the Y. Qualified candidate should enjoy working with children and demonstrate the Y character values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility. Child Watch hours are 8:30 AM – 11:30 AM, Mon-Saturday, 4:30 PM – 8:30 PM Mon-Thurs. Applicants should apply in person or send resume to Tyler Roberts at troberts@ymcadarkecounty.org.

 


CHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTER TEACHER

The YMCA Child Development Center is seeking candidates to fill a teacher position. Qualified candidate will provide quality experience to children and parents that focuses on the YMCA values of honesty, respect, responsibility, and caring. High school diploma required, experience with children in a developmental setting preferred.

Candidate must have the ability to demonstrate and/or show competency in the following areas:

  • Supervising youth and presenting positive role modeling through all interactions with program participants.
  • To meet program goals as outlined in the YMCA Childcare Policies and Procedures Manual.
  • To keep confidences, loyalties and practice professionalism.
  • Be reliable and dependable.
  • Work a flexible schedule to meet program staffing/planning needs.
  • Exercise mature judgment and sound decision making.
  • Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

GENERAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Adhere to policies as stated in the YMCA Childcare Policies and Procedures Manual and in subsequent YMCA trainings and meetings.
  • Work in a team environment and encourage open communication regarding concerns/issues with children, parents or co-workers.
  • Communicate with the Site Director daily.
  • Keep a consistent headcount on all children present at site; communicate changes with all other staff.
  • Assist in maintaining clean-up schedules; including janitorial duties necessary to maintain the cleanliness of the school facility.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of attendance, absences and emergency information on each child.
  • Maintain all supplies, equipment and materials; inform the Site Director when new/additional supplies are needed.
  • Ensure that all staff and children are respectful of school property; ensure all school rules are followed.

RESPONSIBILITIES WHEN INTERACTING WITH CHILDREN:

  • Consistently demonstrate positive interaction with all children; talk to them and treat them with dignity and respect.
  • Consistently demonstrate positive discipline; teach and redirect rather than scolding or reprimanding them; firmly and consistently enforce the rules.
  • Express clear expectations and hold children accountable for adhering to them.
  • Help children to develop a positive self-esteem and sense of self-worth.
  • Consistently demonstrate and reinforce the values of caring, respect, honesty and responsibility.

RESPONSIBILITIES WHEN INTERACTING WITH PARENTS:

  • Positively ID parents before releasing children (picture ID necessary until you can personally identify them).
  • Introduce yourself to parents and communicate with them regularly regarding program information: schedule changes, permission slips, etc.
  • Communicate on a daily basis regarding the behavior of their children, positive and negative.
  • Encourage parents to participate or volunteer in special events or on field trips.
  • Express appreciation for their interest in their child(s) participation in the program.

GYMNASTICS INSTRUCTORS

The YMCA of Darke County is hiring gymnastics instructors. Candidates must bring positive attitude and desire excellence.  Ideal candidate should have tumbling and/or gymnastics experience and must enjoy interacting with children. Candidate should be able to provide quality experience to children and parents that focuses on the YMCA values: honesty, respect, responsibility, and caring.

LIFEGUARDS

The YMCA of Darke County is in need of LIFEGUARDS.

*Our Versailles branch is looking for a daytime lifeguard for between 16-20 hours per week.                         *Our Greenville branch is looking for lifeguards for our opening shift. We also have morning and early shift availability.
Lifeguards are responsible for the supervision & safety of swimmers in the swimming pool. Qualified candidates must be at least 16 years old with a nationally recognized Lifeguard Certification, and must demonstrate a commitment to the Y core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility. SWIM LESSON INSTRUCTORS

The YMCA of Darke County is hiring swim lesson instructors. Candidate should bring positive attitude and desire excellence. Must enjoy interacting with children and have ability to lift a small child. The Y will provide training in the YMCA swim lesson curriculum. Candidate will provide direct leadership, instruction and motivation for students in swimming classes, and should also have the ability to communicate information on Y programs effectively and positively with members, parents and students. Salary commensurate with experience.

CLEANING CREW- Greenville Branch

Part-Time Cleaning Staff members are sought at our Greenville location. Responsibilities include thoroughly cleaning facility, locker rooms, restrooms, floors, workout equipment, etc. Prior experience not necessary, but preferred. Positions available are during 3rd shift hours (12am-5am), 3-5 days per week, and some weekends.
