GNB helps fund local YMCA projects
GREENVILLE – On Friday, the Greenville National Bank presented the YMCA of Darke County with the second half of a $25,000 pledge to help fund several urgent facility upgrades.
According to YMCA CEO, Sam Casalano, the health facility is raising money specifically to assist with many urgent needs and enhancements including safety, security, roofing and flooring.
“It is our goal to make essential upgrades in order to ensure our facility is able to meet community needs and serve our members for many years to come,” Casalano stated. “The Y has been strengthened by a very caring community partner and we thank them for coming along side us in such a meaningful way.”
The improvements expected to be completed in 2016 at the Greenville facility include:
- New roof to provide a safer environment for members
- Steam room boiler replacement (main boiler and water heater
- New carpet in Child Development Center
- New men’s lockers
- Replacement of pool pump
- Replace diving blocks in pool area
- Security system upgrades
“We are thrilled to be able to help better our community YMCA that offers so much to the people of Darke County,” said Greenville National Bank President Sam Suter.
According to Casalano, there are also several private donors that have invested in some of the improvements planned for the Greenville Y.
